Blue Jeans for Better Bones

Hi, my name is Tenny Fasosin and I was born with Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle bone disease.

I am a High School Senior and manager of our JV Soccer Team. My favorite subject is English, and I love blogging on Instagram, listening to music, hanging out with my friends, and playing FIFA on Xbox.

I am excited to be turning 18 on November 6, 2022, especially considering the fact that my parents were told before I was born that I had a maximum life expectancy of 2 weeks!! In celebration wear blue on Friday November 4, and make a donation to the OI Foundation's Blue Jeans for Better Bones Program.

Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a rare and complex genetic order of the collagen that is often characterized by fragile bones. Other characteristics include brittle teeth, spinal curves, muscle weakness, respiratory problems, hearing loss, and cardiac issues. OI is highly variable, ranging from a mild form with a few fractures to a form that is lethal at birth, and affects an estimated 50,000 people in the United States. Individuals with OI may experience hundreds of fractures in a lifetime.

Please help us to provide answers to families like mine, fund research, and maintain a network of support groups for families dealing with the daily realities of OI by making a gift and even joining us for this fun event. You can improve lives!

Last year we raised $1,215 through our generous donors, this year the goal is $1,800. To support the important work of the OI Foundation, simply click on the "Donate Now" link at the top of this page and select "Tenny is 18!!"

I truly appreciate your time, consideration and generosity!

Thanks,

Tenny
