    About the OI Support Program

The OIF recognizes the importance of creating spaces for members of the OI community to connect with one another and access resources. The OIF Support Program includes the following components:

    1. Community Calls
      1. Educational sessions and presentations on various topics of interest will be held quarterly. These meetings will feature professionals and community members leading presentations and discussions.
    2. Quarterly Affinity Support Group Meetings
      1. The OIF Support Program will host virtual Affinity Support Group Meetings on Zoom, featuring breakout rooms for specific groups: women with OI, men with OI, young adults with OI, parents of children with OI, and individuals aging with OI.
    3. State-Based Contacts
      1. For those wishing to connect with community members in their state, the OIF maintains a list of state-based contacts. These contacts are volunteers who are willing to provide support and connect with others in their respective states. See the list of state-based contacts below. If you are interested in becoming a state-based contact, please reach out to bonelink@oif.org for more information.
    4. OI Awareness Week Events
      1. During OI Awareness Week, the OIF Support Program will host three community events. These will include social, support, and educational activities.

    Community Calls

    Community Call: School-Aged ToolkitCommunity Calls
    January 28, 2026 | 7:00pm ET

During this call, the OIF will introduce and review the Toolkit with Dr. Michelle Fynan.

The OI Foundation is excited to share our newest resource, the School-Aged Toolkit: Information on Caring for Children with OI Between the Ages of Three to Eighteen, designed to help families, healthcare providers, school personnel, coaches and other community members support children and students living with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI).

This toolkit provides practical information on navigating school life with OI, including accessibility, safety, communication, and advocacy tips. Whether you’re a parent preparing for a new school year or an educator welcoming a student with OI into your classroom, this toolkit offers the guidance and tools you need to create a positive, inclusive learning experience.
