The 2026 National Conference welcomed over 600 people to the Rosen Centre in Orlando, FL July 24-26, 2026.
This special weekend brought together individuals and families living with OI from near and far for three days of education, connection, and fun. With over 260 medical consultations being conducted, 30+ walk and wheel teams raising more than $63,000, and 16 talent show acts, the weekend was filled with friends old and new connecting through information, activities, and celebration.
Weekend Recap
Thursday, July 23, 2026: Women's Forum
The Women’s Health Forum was a full-day event featuring presentations on topics related to women’s health and OI. It also provided a space for women with OI to connect and share their experiences. With close to 40 women in attendance, it served as an important start to the Conference.
The OIF staff also set up the registration and information desk! This area included a free resource center and OIF store that served as an important focal point for the weekend to field any questions or concerns conference attendees had.

Friday, July 24, 2026: First Day of Conference!
The first official day of conference started with a bang! The morning included over 260 medical consultation appointments, a bustling exhibitor hall, and a motivating opening session with keynote speaker Chris Odom. Opening Session also included our Medics on the March 2025 doctors Dr. Franzone, Dr. Smith, Dr. Sutton, and Dr. Wallace receiving the President's Volunteer of the Year Award.
The night brought some colorful fun with the National Unbreakable Spirit® Walk and Wheel & Luau-themed Welcome Reception (sponsored by Nemours Children's Health) With over 30 teams in attendance, this event raised over $63,000 for OI research! The luau was a festive occasion that included a surprise appearance from Disney's Maui and Moana, which served as a perfect way to close out Day 1.
Friday, July 24, 2026: Unbreakable Spirit® Award
The OI Foundation proudly presented the Unbreakable Spirit® Award to Ultragenyx at the 2026 OIF National Conference.
During Friday night's Board reception Emil D. Kakkis, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer and President of Ultragenyx, was on hand to accept the award.
Former and current Board Members, key leaders, and OIF CEO Tracy Hart were also in attendance. Thank you to Ultragenyx for all you do to champion osteogenesis imperfecta research.
Saturday, July 25, 2026: Second Day of Conference
The 2nd day of Conference was indeed a busy one! Everything from a robust morning workout, Camp Unbreakable Spirit®, and our Research Update session where the Francis Glorieux award was presented to Dr. Cathleen Raggio, Hospital for Special Surgery.
The afternoon continued with important informational sessions and peer- to - peer breakout sessions. The evening included social events such as the Adult Happy Hour & Stitch, Create, and Connect meet-up. The night concluded with a Conference staple - the Talent Show! With over 16 acts, our talented OI community shined on stage!
Sunday, July 26, 2026: Final Day of Conference!
Our final day of conference was led by wonderful breakout sessions, more peer to peer discussions, and our Sunday General Session that included Ted and Sharon Trahan being awarded the Thelma Clack Award, as well as inspiring presentations from both Mark Birdwhistell and Zarina Rasheed.
Our exciting Conference came to an end with the closing dinner & dance. After reflections from Board President Dr. Michelle Fynan, surprise guests Cinderella & Prince Charming arrived to open the dance floor - it truly was an evening to remember!
